Everyone could use a little more love <3

These hearts make the perfect decoration for someone’s home.

Here’s a list of everything your going to need.

  • Wood Plank (most sizes work)
  • Chop-saw/Circular Saw
  • Electric Sander
  • Blow Torch
  • Craft Paint
  • Wood Stain
  • Polyurethane
  • Wood Glue

Step 1 – Outline the Heart

First things first you have to outline what your going to cut.

Outline your wood the same as the picture above.

The longest side of each heart should by 5 inches and the shorter side is 3 inches

Once you have your outline then chop the wood.

Step 2 – Sand your Hearts

I like my hearts to have rounded corners, but make sure not to sand the side that is going to be glues to the other side.

Step 3 – Glue Together

Put glue on the sides that are cut at an angle and clamp them together, if you don’t have clamps then use a heavy object and push the heart against the wall.

Step 4 – Burn The Wood!

Prepare an area to scorch your wood. I have my burning area on a piece of ply wood.

Burn along the wood grain and brush the ash off with a bristle brush.

Step 5 – Paint/Stain Your Heart

Let’s get creative!

Use some craft paint and create beautiful color designs, and use wood stain to add more color.

Step 6 – Add a Protective Coat

You want to protect your art don’t you?

Use some polyurethane  to protect your heart from damage.

After applying it and letting it dry, sand it with sand paper of 300 grit or more.

Then apply another coat and sand lightly.
